Outlines a set of ten key rules that all members of Delta Sig must adhere to, emphasizing high standards in academics, moral values, and social responsibility. It provides a guide for members to follow, including striving for academic excellence, respecting others and their property, as well as chapter property. The code encourages members to exemplify and support self-discipline, responsibility, and leadership.
Serves as a reference point for health and safety policies that all Delta Sigma Phi members are expected to follow, covering a wide range of topics. It includes policies on alcohol and other drugs, crisis management, fire and water safety, hazing, and sexual misconduct. The document states that all members are expected to live up to the highest standards of educational attainment, moral values, and social responsibility.
Provides instruction and overview for members who assist another person in a medical emergency, including those related to alcohol and drug use. These individuals are eligible for reduced disciplinary action. Chapters that seek help for an individual in need can also receive mitigation of charges. The policy can be used more than once, but repeated use may be subject to a more in-depth review.
Delta Sigma Phi is on a mission to eliminate Fraternity risks associated with health, safety, and human dignity, and the best way to do that is by increasing individual member and chapter knowledge and skills related to these topics.
One of the ways we are working toward this is through our Courage & Culture programming—the Fraternity’s take on health and safety education for chapters and their communities. The name comes from two concepts that are central to who we are as a Fraternity. It can take courage to stand up for the right thing, to intervene in difficult situations. Culture, one of the Fraternity’s three historic values, is the pursuit of knowledge and personal development.
