Delta Sigma Phi mourns the loss of Past National President D. Lee Dueringer, Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ’60, whose lifetime of service helped shape generations of brothers and strengthen the Fraternity he loved. A recipient of the Mr. Delta Sig Award and one of the most respected leaders in Delta Sigma Phi history, Lee dedicated more than sixty years to mentoring members, advising chapters, and advancing the mission of building better men. His impact on the Fraternity, and on the countless lives he touched, will be felt for generations to come.

Recognized as the College’s highest honor, this award is akin to a Hall of Fame induction, celebrating individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the university and the field of agriculture. For Lee, this recognition is a testament to his lifelong dedication to education, mentorship, philanthropy, and the principles of Delta Sigma Phi.

Brother Pat Stephens, Wisconsin-La Crosse ’67, has been awarded the Service Above Self Award—the highest recognition for service given by Rotary International. Named for Rotary’s motto “Service Above Self", the award is bestowed on fewer than 150 members worldwide. He has been a Rotarian for 35 years, serving as president of Rotary Club of La Crosse East, and is widely known for his leadership of Rotary Lights.
