Members of Delta Sigma Phi’s Eta Upsilon chapter at Indiana State University recently welcomed Deputy Fire Marshal Greg to their chapter house for a fire safety education session focused on preparedness, prevention, and building a stronger relationship with the local fire department.
During the visit, Deputy Fire Marshal Greg reviewed safety procedures with residents and provided the chapter with a detailed fire safety checklist. The checklist has since been posted throughout the house to help reinforce expectations and promote a safer living environment for both members and guests.
“The guidelines he provided, along with our Emergency Plan document, give us a clear standard to follow and improve our overall preparedness,” said Chapter President Aidyn Green. “The chapter members are very grateful for the department’s time and support, and we cannot wait for them to return in the fall to ensure we are continuing to follow these procedures properly.”
The visit also marked an important step in strengthening communication and collaboration between the chapter and local officials. Chapter leaders shared that the opportunity to work directly with the fire department helped foster a positive relationship and demonstrated the chapter’s commitment to safety and accountability.
By proactively engaging with community partners and prioritizing member well-being, Eta Upsilon continues to create a safer and more responsible chapter experience for all residents and visitors.
