Chapter advisors provide guidance to undergraduate officers and communicate with the entire chapter as needed. On average, chapter advisors have 2-3 hours of meetings with the chapter each week and attend a monthly meeting that includes the chapter president, headquarters staff, and campus professionals.
Our three national flagship programs—Leadership Institute, Career Accelerator, and Civic Engagement Institute—require experienced facilitators who can speak to core content areas for their assigned program. Programs range from three-days to five-days with most volunteer roles expected to participate for the entirety of the program.
Chapter advisors are encouraged to take a lead facilitator role for executive officer retreats, however, additional volunteers may assist chapters who do not have chapter advisors. Former chapter advisors and campus partners would make ideal facilitators for this program. Executive officer retreats range from half-day to two-day programs.
Courage and culture facilitators deliver prevention workshops on alcohol, mental health, addiction, hazing, and positive sexual relationships. Workshops are 60-minutes and delivered to members in a single chapter while retreats are immersive two-day programs that may include multiple chapters.
The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to undergraduates and alumni each year. Scholarship reviewers assess applications and select recipients. Volunteers for this role should anticipate 5-10 hours for training and application review every March.
The Cycyota Volunteer Institute (CVI) is Delta Sigma Phi’s premier training and development program for our dedicated volunteers—from local chapter advisors to alumni corporation board officers.
