The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation has awarded more than $74,000 in scholarships to 16 undergraduate and graduate brothers, helping them pursue their educational goals while recognizing their commitment to leadership, service, academic achievement, and the values of the Fraternity.
Made possible through the generosity of alumni and friends of Delta Sigma Phi, these scholarships support brothers at every stage of their educational journey. Some recipients are preparing for careers in accounting, science, business, and medicine. Others are continuing their education through graduate and doctoral programs. From future physicians and business leaders to graduate students and chapter leaders, these recipients demonstrate Delta Sigma Phi's commitment to pursuing education, embracing service, building lifelong friendships and launching successful careers.
For many recipients, Foundation support provides more than financial assistance.
Youssef Wahba, Appalachian State '25, recipient of the Delta Iota/Russell Roebuck Memorial Scholarship, shared that the scholarship has helped ease the financial pressure of pursuing his degree while allowing him to focus more fully on academics, leadership development, and campus involvement.
The Foundation Scholarship and the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation have made a meaningful impact on both my college experience and my journey as a member of Delta Sigma Phi. Receiving support from the Foundation has helped ease the financial pressure of pursuing my education, allowing me to focus more fully on my academics, leadership development, and involvement on campus.

Beyond the scholarship itself, this support has reminded me that Delta Sigma Phi is more than a brotherhood during college. It is a lifelong network of people who believe in investing in one another’s success. Knowing that alumni and supporters of the Foundation are willing to give back has inspired me to make the most of my opportunities and to represent the values of Delta Sigma Phi with pride."
Eli Lane, Kansas State '23, recipient of the Herb & Eleanor Sims Scholarship, reflected on the opportunities he has experienced through Delta Sigma Phi while serving in multiple leadership roles within his chapter.
During my time in the Alpha Upsilon Chapter, I have had the opportunity to serve in several leadership roles and invest heavily in the future of our brotherhood. Through Delta Sigma Phi, I learned what it means to be part of something bigger than myself. There were many times when serving the chapter required sacrifices of my time and energy, but those experiences taught me invaluable lessons about leadership, accountability, and service to others. Before college, I was not heavily involved in leadership roles, so Delta Sigma Phi became the place where I learned how to lead, serve others, and step outside my comfort zone. The Foundation's support has allowed me to fully invest in opportunities that have shaped both my personal and professional development.

For some recipients, scholarship support helps make ambitious educational goals possible. Marco Nevarez, Texas at Austin '24, recipient of the McKee Scholarship, is pursuing a path toward medical school.
Asked about the Foundation's impact on his journey, Nevarez summed it up in a single word:
Supported. The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation has supported me on my academic journey towards medical school. I have been able to take some weight off my shoulders with the assistance of the scholarships, and I am truly grateful.

Graduate recipients also highlighted the lasting impact Delta Sigma Phi continues to have long after graduation.
Graduate recipient Todd Speckhard, Utah State '13, who received the Better Man Scholarship, is currently pursuing dual Master of Social Work and Master of Nonprofit Organizations degrees. Reflecting on the impact Delta Sigma Phi has had on his life, he shared:
The Delta Sigma Phi Foundation's investment in me has changed my life. Beyond financial support, the Foundation has invested in my leadership, education, and commitment to making the world a better place.
When I started college, I was searching for a place where I could belong while remaining authentically myself. I found that place in Delta Sigma Phi. Through a culture grounded in friendship and the pursuit of becoming better men, the fraternity provided me with a community that challenged me to grow, supported me through adversity, and empowered me to lead.

Speckhard's reflection echoed a common theme among this year's recipients: Foundation scholarships provide more than financial support. They serve as a reminder that generations of Delta Sigs continue to invest in one another's success.
"Without the financial support provided through this scholarship, pursuing both graduate degrees would not have been possible. More than financial assistance, this award serves as a reminder that there is a community of brothers who continue to invest in my success and believe in the difference I can make."
This year's scholarship recipients reflect the many ways brothers live out the values of Delta Sigma Phi through academic excellence, leadership, service, and lifelong friendship.
Every scholarship awarded represents the lasting impact of alumni and friends who choose to invest in future generations of Delta Sigs. Through their generosity, brothers across the country are able to pursue their education, develop as leaders, and take advantage of opportunities that shape their lives long after graduation.
As McKee Better Man Scholarship recipient Cole Wright, Transylvania ‘23, reflected:
The Foundation is an intrinsic part of what makes Delta Sigma Phi a fraternity that does not just speak empty rhetoric about how it can benefit its members but actively creates opportunities to prove that we live by our values and to instill those values in others.
