Staffing Transitions and the Future of Delta Sigma Phi

As we draw the current academic year to a close, we are already hard at work preparing for an incredible 2026-2027. While we look forward to sharing more about our recent successes soon, the Fraternity is announcing several important Headquarters staffing updates as we continue our momentum into the future.

Celebrating Ry Beck

After more than 15 years on staff, Assistant Executive Director Ry Beck, North Texas ‘04, will be transitioning from Headquarters to a consulting role supporting our Next Era strategies. Ry joined the staff in 2007 as a traveling consultant before ultimately becoming director of educational programs in 2011. Since rejoining the staff in 2018, Ry has served as chief strategic officer and assistant executive director, overseeing daily operations of the Fraternity.

"Ry Beck has been a key part of bringing the Next Era strategies to life," said Executive Director Phil Rodriguez, Illinois State ‘03. "His dedication, leadership, and vision for our new National Programs—along with his relentless pursuit of excellence—is second to none. He will be deeply missed, and I am beyond grateful for Ry’s friendship and leadership as he continues to make an impact within Delta Sigma Phi and beyond."

Celebrating Nathan Wight

We also announce that after nearly 20 years of dedicated service, Nathan Wight, Illinois State ‘97, will depart the staff at the end of this month to become chief development officer for Easterseals Crossroads of Indiana. Nathan’s tenure has had a profound impact; he guided the Foundation through two major fundraising campaigns, reached historical financial highs, and established our successful annual Day of Giving.

"Beyond his financial impact, Nathan’s true legacy lies in his exceptional attention to our donors and his commitment to meaningful relationships," Rodriguez added. "I truly don’t know anyone who cares more deeply about our alumni than Nathan. We are grateful for his leadership, which has placed us on the strongest financial footing in our history."

A Robust Plan for Continuity

As we celebrate Ry and Nathan’s next chapters, we remain confident in our organization’s momentum. We have implemented a clear and robust continuity plan to ensure our mission never wavers. Our restructured leadership team is uniquely positioned to deliver the Next Era Strategy and provide unparalleled support to our membership.

The Fraternity Leadership Team

Under the direction of Executive Director Phil Rodriguez, three key individuals will lead Fraternity operations:

  • Aubrey Cala serves as the director of undergraduate services. With over 10 years of experience in higher education and four years on staff, Aubrey oversees the Fraternity’s chapter support, advising, and health and safety efforts, including Courage & Culture men’s health initiatives and the training and development of undergraduate officers, advisors, and volunteers.

  • Andrew Thomas, IUPUI ‘14, director of membership experience and Convention. On staff since 2018, Andrew oversees National programs and leadership development designed to propel brothers forward.

  • Tyler Gunn, Louisiana at Monroe ‘16, continues as director of organizational growth. On staff since 2020, he manages the Active Growth Hub models, ensuring the Fraternity invests more in growth support than ever before.

Collectively, this group represents over 30+ years of Delta Sigma Phi Experience.

Foundation and Business Operations

To lead our fundraising and business stability:

  • Tom Cycyota, Illinois at Chapaing-Urbaba '69, past national president and senior philanthropy officer, will serve as interim director of the Foundation.

  • Elizabeth Allouche, director of enterprise communications, assumes leadership over all annual stewardship and Foundation communications.

  • Courtney Williams continues as chief financial officer, driving the business operations of the Fraternity forward.

As we prepare for the opportunities ahead, Delta Sigma Phi remains committed to delivering meaningful experiences for our members, investing in our people, and advancing the Next Era strategy with confidence. We are grateful for the lasting contributions of Ry Beck and Nathan Wight and look forward to building on the strong foundation they helped create. Together, we will continue shaping a brighter future for the Fraternity and Brotherhood we all serve.
