Chapter & Alumni Communications Coordinator
Position Summary
The Chapter & Alumni Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in strengthening Delta Sigma Phi’s connection to its members by enhancing communications at both the undergraduate and alumni chapter levels. This position supports the Fraternity’s strategic communications goals by implementing national tools and resources at the chapter level, assisting with growth and engagement campaigns, and providing communications support to alumni chapters and volunteer leaders. The ideal candidate is an organized and creative communicator who can write effectively, manage multiple projects, and build positive relationships across audiences. This position reports to the Director of Communications.
Compensation: $43,000 - $48,000 salary with bonus potential and travel budget

Responsibilities
Fraternity Communications (30%)
- Implement national communications tools and strategies at the chapter level to ensure consistent use of Delta Sigma Phi’s brand and messaging.
- Assist undergraduate chapters in developing and distributing newsletters, website content, and email campaigns.
- Support chapters in building and maintaining a strong social media presence through one-on-one guidance, shared templates, and educational resources.
- Provide resources and training to undergraduate leaders to improve chapter-level communications, storytelling, and content planning.
- Support overflow design projects (social media graphics, flyers, etc.) in coordination with the National communications team.
Growth Campaigns (30%)
- Collaborate with the Growth and Communications teams to support recruitment campaigns, real-time social media engagement, and paid digital promotions.
- Create social media posts and digital content that drive visibility, engagement, and membership inquiries for Delta Sigma Phi and its chapters.
- Assist chapters in developing creative social media strategies to highlight recruitment events, philanthropy, and community impact.
- Draft and publish chapter-level SEO articles and local media stories that support growth and reputation-building efforts.
- Assist in writing and distributing growth-focused newsletters and updates that support membership expansion and awareness initiatives.
Foundation Communications (30%)
- Coordinate alumni chapter-level communications, including operational updates, event announcements, and newsletters.
- Interview alumni and spotlight stories for the newsroom that highlight the lifelong impact of Delta Sigma Phi membership.
- Support alumni engagement initiatives in collaboration with the Delta Sigma Phi Foundation.
Program Support (10%)
- Serve as the main communications point of contact for undergraduate Vice Presidents of Communication.
- Produce a monthly VP Communications newsletter featuring best practices, chapter highlights, and storytelling tips.
- Support the implementation of the Fraternity’s Communications 101 curriculum and other related training programs.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in communications, marketing, or related roles (higher education or nonprofit experience preferred)
- Demonstrated experience creating social media content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment (phone, video, and online collaboration tools)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
- Experience with content management systems (e.g., ChapterSpot, Statamic, WordPress)
- Proficiency with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software
- Strong judgment, attention to detail, and initiative to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to travel frequently (approximately 35%) and work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed
