Gene Vance Named Chair of ABA House of Delegates
Delta Sigma Phi is proud to share that Gene Vance, Transylvania ’85, became chair of the American Bar Association House of Delegates at the conclusion of the 2022 ABA Annual Meeting on August 9.
Brother Vance is a partner at the Lexington, Kentucky-based firm Stoll Keenon Ogden (SKO) with over 30 years of practicing law. He serves on the Board of Directors of SKO, where he focuses his practice on litigation including business and commercial, products liability, toxic tort, trucking and transportation, and insurance coverage matters.
As chair of the House of Delegates, the ABA’s policymaking body, Brother Vance will serve for two years in the second-highest office in the association. There are 596 delegates in the House, including representatives of state and local bar associations, substantive legal sections and divisions of the ABA, and affiliated organizations and conferences of the Judicial Division, as well as former ABA officers, members of the Board of Governors, at-large delegates, and state delegates.
Brother Vance has a loyal history of involvement in Delta Sigma Phi at the local and national level. He served on the Grand Council, the Foundation Board of Trustees and on the Beta Mu Alumni Corporation Board. He has also received Delta Sigma Phi’s highest honor, the Mr. Delta Sig Award.
